Hey Beauty Dolls,
So I’m taking a break from the “Weave Been Wondering” series to talk about finishing sprays. Specifically I want to let you know which one i prefer out of three popular brands. First off, a finishing spray is NOT a setting spray. Setting sprays help to set and prolong your makeup. Finishing sprays help melt everything together and look less cakey. The three brands I’m going to be reviewing today are from Mac, Elf, and Mario Badescu. All three have finishing sprays and are supposed to be dupes for one another. I’ll start with my least favorite first and provide a few pros and cons for each.
- Mario Badescu Rose Water- retails for $7 at Ulta.com
- Pros: Cheap and it smells good.
- Cons: The spray nozzle doesn’t give a fine even mist and i still appeared cakey and powdery even after drowning myself in it.
- Elf Mist and Set- Retails for about $2-$3 online at Elf.com and in stores
- Pros: Dirt cheap, actually melted my makeup, gave me a natural effect, spray nozzle good, closest dupe to Mac Fix+.
- Cons: Bottle amount is too small, can be used very quickly due to it being soooo good.
- Mac Fix +- retails for $23 at Mac and in stores
- Pros: Comes in different scents, literally gave the most natural look after applying all of my powders and foundation, spray nozzle locks to make sure no product is wasted.
- Cons: Costs too much for me however one bottle lasted me a little over two months, spray nozzle is nice but doesn’t give a full face mist, overall I’ll be broke because I’m buying more as soon as my Mario Rose Water runs out.
I wanted to keep it short and basically tell you BELIEVE THE HYPE! I’m the type to wait till the hype dies down before I purchase a product but that Mac Fix + is worth it! The Elf was the closest dupe I’ve tried for it I just wish the bottle was bigger. I want to try other brands though but for now I’m good with these. Drop your favorites below babes and tell us why you love it! Thanks Beauty Dolls!
XOXO,
