Hey Beauty Dolls,
Merry Christmas lovelies! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. Just dropping some knowledge on the difference between contouring and bronzing. Do you need to do both? It’s all personal preference honestly but here’s the key difference between the two. Normally after applying foundation, you lose some of the warmth and definition in your face. Contouring and bronzing help bring those features back for a fresh faced look.
Contouring is the use of cool toned shades of brown or grey brown to create definition in the face. People mostly contour the perimeter of the face to add shape and enhance the cheekbones.
Bronzing is the use of warm toned browns to bring warmth back to the face. Not everyone needs a harsh contour. Some people need a little warmth to even out their look. You would bronze in the same places you’d contour. Some people do both. By doing both you can create a nicer transition from foundation to bronzer to contour. By bronzing lightly first, you’re helping blend your contour better into your foundation.
You can bronze or contour with powder, creams, or even different shades of foundations and concealers. Once you learn the difference, you’ll learn you can use just about anything in those color ranges to get the job done.
Well Beauty Dolls, that’s all for now. Time to snuggle up with my teddy bear and some hot cocoa (no seriously. I’m a big kid I know). Enjoy your holiday and keep on sleighing 💋
XOXO
